Fig. 1. DI extract inhibits the secretion of IL-6, IL-8, and MCP-1 from BEAS-2B cells. (A) BEAS-2B cells were incubated with the DI extract at a concentration of 10, 20, and 50 μg/mL for 48 hours. The data are expressed as the relative ratio to the absorbance of the untreated cells, which was set at 100%. (B) The cells were treated with Der p 38 (10 μg/mL) or DI extract (50 μg/mL), or co-treated with Der p 38 and DI extract in 48 hours. The concentration of IL-6, IL-8, and MCP-1 in the cell supernatant was measured with ELISA. DI, Duchesnea indica; IL, interleukin; Der p, Dermatophagoides pteronissinus; MCP-1, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1; ELISA, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay; SD, standard deviation. The data are expressed as the mean ± SD. *P < 0.05 and **P < 0.01 indicate a significant difference between the control and Der p 38-treated groups. ##P < 0.01 indicates a significant difference between the Der p 38 and Der p 38 + DI-treated group.
