Fig. 2. DI extract inhibits the release of IL-6, IL-8, and MCP-1 by inhibiting the activation of AKT and ERK in BEAS-2B cells. (A) BEAS-2B cells were pretreated with the DI extract (50 μg/mL) for 1 hour, and then incubated with Der p 38 (10 μg/mL) for 15 or 30 minutes. The harvested cells were lysed, and phospho-AKT, phospho-ERK were analyzed by Western blotting. (B) In densitometric data, the expression level of a target protein is divided by ERK2 level and an untreated cell is set at 1. DI, Duchesnea indica; IL, interleukin; Der p, Dermatophagoides pteronissinus; MCP-1, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1; ERK, extracellular signal-regulated kinase. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01 indicates a significant difference between the control and Der p 38-treated groups. ##P < 0.01 indicates a significant difference between the Der p 38 and Der p 38 + DI-treated groups.
